Expected practice

Keep consent, lawful access, and publication permission distinct. Redact unnecessary identifiers from screenshots, transcripts, filenames, and downloadable records. Test whether machine-readable exports reveal fields that the visible page omits.

Responsibility and boundaries

Private participant or case material should have restricted access and a documented handling plan. Do not send it to an AI provider merely because a tool is convenient. Disclose where redaction limits independent verification.

Application and current status

Account profiles begin private. Public profile visibility, directory participation, and search display use separate choices; only eligible public fields enter public views. Manuscript drafts, review records, learning progress, and authentication information remain protected by their access rules.
