Expected practice
Describe contributions to conception, collection, methodology, software, analysis, validation, writing, and review. Identify a responsible contact. Do not add honorary authors or use a person’s name without their consent.
Responsibility and boundaries
Authors should verify citations, permissions, source labels, and the final conclusions. An AI system can be disclosed as a tool but cannot assume a person’s accountability. Changes to contributor attribution should be explained in the version record.
